Colorgramme WMeteor is a specialized, free radio astronomy software package designed for the detection, recording, and visualization of radio meteor scatter. It works alongside companion software like Meteor to track the ionized trails left behind by meteors (shooting stars) as they enter Earth’s atmosphere. Core Functionality
Meteor Scatter Tracking: Uses radio signals to count and log radio wave reflections caused by high-altitude ionized meteor trails.
Sky Mapping: Includes a built-in Sky Map tool. It displays a real-time view of constellations, stars, the sun, moon, and planets based on the observer’s latitude and longitude.
Shower Predictions: Displays ongoing active meteor showers across the sky map. Standard streams appear with green indicators, active maximum peaks show in red, and radio meteor showers display in fuschia.
