The TENVIS IP Camera Search Tool (often included in the “IP Camera Wizard” or labeled as “H.264 Searcher” on legacy units) is a lightweight desktop software utility used to locate, assign, and manage TENVIS security cameras on a local area network (LAN).
Because IP cameras are assigned dynamic IP addresses by your router when first plugged in, this tool eliminates the guesswork of finding the camera’s network location. Core Functions
Automated Network Discovery: Scans your local network to instantly find all connected TENVIS IP devices.
Network Information Display: Details the camera’s current IP address, MAC address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, and Port numbers.
IP Address Modification: Allows you to change the camera from a dynamic IP (DHCP) to a fixed, Static IP address to prevent it from changing in the future.
One-Click Web Access: Provides a direct link or button to launch the camera’s internal web-based configuration page in your browser. How to Use the Search Tool
Physical Setup: Connect your TENVIS camera to your Wi-Fi router using an Ethernet/LAN cable and plug it into power. Ensure your computer is connected to the exact same router network.
Launch the Tool: Open the search tool installer from the original product software bundle or the legacy TENVIS Download Center Center.
Scan: Click Search or Refresh. The tool will display a list of detected cameras.
Login: Double-clicking the camera’s IP address within the tool opens your default web browser to the camera’s login page. (Note: The classic default manufacturer credentials are username admin with the password left completely blank). Alternative Configuration Methods
If you are setting up a newer hardware model, TENVIS has largely transitioned away from desktop search tools in favor of mobile applications. You can also try these modern alternatives:
The TENVISTY Mobile App: Downloadable on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, this uses a QR code scan or “Sound Wave Smart Connection” to pair the camera directly via your smartphone without needing a PC tool.
Router Device Lists: You can log directly into your home router’s admin panel (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) and check the DHCP Client List or Device Map to find the IP address assigned to the camera without downloading any extra software.
Third-Party ONVIF Searchers: Because many legacy TENVIS models support universal open network video interfaces, free multi-brand tools like Agent DVR or universal ONVIF Device Managers can also scan and find these cameras on your network.
